The headline on KHQ was not quite right...we did not cancel school to go to the games, we took a field trip to the games. Oakesdale was in a great situation last week during the State B Basketball Tournament as both our boys and girls teams qualified and played on Wednesday. It was a unique opportunity to take the whole school and see both teams play in the tournament. The day went very well and our kiddos had a great time.
That morning we had a fun sendoff in the gym (too much snow) and we had a big crowd of family and community members join the school in wishing the teams luck, giving them their buckets, and sending them off with Nighthawk Pride.
The tournament was a great success. Our boys team qualified for the first time since 2019 and played on Wednesday. The girls team worked their way through the tournament, earning a 4th place trophy.
We are so proud of both teams, our coaches, and the work that went into such a great season. They made the town proud.
