Hello Oakesdale Families,
As you know, the Oakesdale community is much like so many other small towns where we support each other through difficult times, whatever those may be. What makes our towns special is how we not only help those within our communities, but the larger community as well. I am referring to how Whitman County sticks together. While our schools are rivals in athletics and other competitions, when times are tough, we band together to support each other.
Our students are fortunate to be able to participate in numerous sports at Colfax High School. Our students are welcomed and supported by the school and community and have great experiences. It is our turn as Nighthawks, to show our support for the Colfax community by showing support for their basketball coach and business manager, Coach Reece Jenkin, who has recently received a cancer diagnosis. In support of Coach Jenkin and his family, our home basketball game on the night of January 9th vs Garfield-Palouse will be a PURPLE OUT!
Below is a link to Spirit Strand if you are interested in purchasing a purple shirt, also serving as a donation to the Jenkin family. Details are below and in the link. All orders must be done through the Spirit Strand website and we cannot collect money for these at the school.
