Good Morning to All Middle and High School Students and Parents,
Today is a grade check day and we have a significant number of low grades (D or F). We, as staff, are as aware as anyone of how close we are to the end of the school year...but there are still responsibilities to be completed and for our students, that means being at school and turning work in on time. As I review the report, there is a direct correlation between the low grades and high numbers of absences. This is not surprising, nor is this new news.

So, students, get to school, go to all your classes, and turn in your work. Parents, please help us with this. We don't have too many days left, so let's finish strong. Thank you. Dr. D

This Saturday is Spangle Days! Part of Spangle Days is a Basketball Shooters Championship where ANYONE can win and $5000 will go to their school. This will be a fun event that can benefit Oakesdale, supports a neighboring community, and gives people something to do on a Saturday afternoon. Hopefully you sign up...this is not just limited to students, anyone of any age can be a part of the shooters championship. #NighthawkProud

Each spring, the regional superintendents select members of their individual communities to recognize due to their "above and beyond" support for their schools. The ways to support and help are endless, and we are so lucky to have Anthony and Amber Brown in our community, helping to make the Oakesdale School and the overall Oakesdale community strong. We thank you for your support and dedication in providing the greatest opportinities possible for our students.

Also annually, each superintendent can select a student who has provided an example to others, developed as a student leader, and represents the school in a way that positively represents the student body and community as a whole. This year, Grant Opitz was recognized, having served in numerous official and unofficial leadership roles as a student, the Voice of the Nighthawks this past basketball season, and our daily announcer with his now infamous jokes.

We thank and congratulate Tony and Amber Brown, and Grant Opitz for these deserving recognitions. #NighthawkProud

The 9th and 10th grade had an amazing opportunity to see and hear Temple Grandin earlier this week! #NighthawkProud
